chasing the tail

Why does it give some joy to make someone else happy?

I’m thinking this is the true nature of human beings. This is how we were built to live, but somewhere along the way, on the human rollercoaster ride of our lives, some of us lost the way and became hoarders of our selves. These people think they are the only ones that matter, cutting themselves off from the bliss that can be so easily theirs by just seeing to the happiness of others.

It seems simple. See to the welfare of others, and in the process, somehow, you become well.

(if you buy the argument)

Why is that!?
Is everyone somehow ourselves!? When we see others, could we really be looking into some freaky reflected version of ourselves that could be? What we do to others is really doing to our selves?

Wouldn’t it bode well to treat others as you would yourself being that it is you?

Ummmmm!?

toy dog

So I pull out this Oak Park gas station onto a side street wanting to go West on Madison Avenue. The light chances and several cars had to cross the intersection before I could make my turn. As I was about to proceed with my turn, an Oak Park police cruiser was signaling to turn East on Madison, the intersection was clear; I made my turn. I hadn’t even straightened the car out, when I seen the cruiser in my rear view mirror, lights ablaze, then whoop, whoop! Everyone who drives knows that feeling.
What the hell, is he stupid!

I pull over, and he passes.

Then I see all his comrades coming from everywhere, Racing to a point somewhere down the road.

When I get there, a tall black guy is trying to corral a toy dog in the middle of the street. Several policemen and citizens join in with out success.

I thought, that’s no dog a man like that would have! Must be his girlfriend’s.

Then I see the minivan crashed into the side of an ex-Cadillac dealership.

Did the little dog cause the accident!? I saw no other vehicles involved. Was that why all the effort in trying to catch it!?
.

Was the pooch in the minivan and decided he no longer needed to be in the care of humans if that kind of shit can happen.

The people in the minivan looked dazed and banged-up pretty bad.

As fire equipment arrive, I leave the scene with constant thoughts of how the tiny dog was involved, or not.

Animals can get even too!
