Survivor

During the tornado attacks ( and ya, Tornados get together, seeming as one sometimes, and plan to run havoc on whatever place they see fit to ruin, especially trailer parks which they can't stand )in the past weeks here in the suburbs of Chicago, mainly Richton Park, a co-worker lost his residence and all his stuff.

I've never known anyone who had been in a such tulmultous event. I would think that the victim of such an event would be frazzled beyond repair. My co-worker showed up for work the next day without injurys or mental problems. He was rather calm about it, even while telling the story of his recue by a helicopter crewmember. ( the story got a little vague at that point ) I was kind of disapointed that he was normal after that disaster.

If it were me, no matter what had happened, I would not be in to work for several weeks. When I did show up, I would be in bandages with a killer story.

People love that kind of stuff.

That summer feeling

On the drive home, windows down, cool breeze refreshing my face, I stirred with a strange feeling deep in my being. Ordinarily, in past summers, I would take the feeling for granted, thinking it was a sign of warmer whether. This time I payed closer attention to it.

like a dot of light in vast darkness, a sense of it spoke to me like a new idea, filled with supreme peace and love. I was touched by the feeling, and an undeniable urge to relieve myself.

I pulled into Miller Meadows where new Porta-Potties were set up. The stench of powerful chemicals knocked me from my reverie, standing before what must have been the greatest struggle of some one's life. Do-do was all over the seating area. I wondered if the person's life was changed by the monstrous event I was viewing.

I handled my business and returned to fresh air. Instead of jumping in my truck to continue my journey, I decided to spend a while sitting at one of the picnictables. Feeling relaxed, I began to mentally fade into the nature around me, and for moment, I found that all is well in the world.

Peace, sweet peace.

Then the freaks started showing up. ( there are some weird people out there! )

It was time to get back on the road home.

The flow of nature

You know, sometimes it's great being a guy, especially during those times when you urgently need to take a whiz.
We men, being the provider and bread winner for our family, can't always pick and choose when we can get to a rest room. We men have all had that time when we would hold our urine in expectation of a more comfortable moment. That moment can come in any place.
Holding back what may seem like the Pacific Ocean of piss, a man seeks a pleasant location, that is, if he is still unable to get to a rest room, to let the waters flow. An alley, a doorway, against a wall or by the parked cars, somewhere less traveled by other would be sufficient, as long as some privacy can be had, and out of the way of roaming police officers, because urinating in public is a violation and much frowned upon.
Speaking for myself, I like to pull into a secluded alley somewhere, and boy, there's nothing like the feeling of letting go, with the birds chirping and the smell of fresh flowers. Sometimes I live for that moment.
