The ride rule
Not having the use of your own vehicle can sometimes be annoying, especially if you need to get somewhere.
Public transportation is a bitch in below zero temperatures. Besides, if you’re like me, I haven’t used Public trans in over twenty years…I don’t know to use it anymore!
Cab riding is too expensive. My last and only cab ride was with a maniac driver straight out of central casting. I’m still recovering from that wild ride. ( I still tipped him)
Calling a friend or co-worker is an obvious choice. Now you got to know how much you’re willing to put up with, as far as the rules and dictates of that person, concerning your ride with them.
Below are some rules or restrictions I have encountered or heard of.
1. No smoking in the car! Since I don’t smoke, that’s fine with me.
2. No letting the windows down!. Harsh, if the driver is a smoker.
3. No moving your seat! If you’re uncomfortable, you just got to make it as best you can.
4. No touching the radio! If it’s off, it stays off, if it’s on it stays on.
5. No sitting in the front! I’m still weirded-out by that one. ( since his wife past, only the dog can sit there).
6. Keep your hands on the dash! State police.( so I’ve heard).
7. No fidgeting in back! Chicago Police. ( so I’ve heard).
I’d rather walk.
